350.org is looking for a driven and creative Senior Campaigner to coordinate the work of our online and offline mobilisation in the Arab World, and to collaborate with our team members with skill, sensitivity, and a razor-sharp strategic sense.

We’re looking for someone who wants to help build the climate movement’s next-big-thing in the Arab World. Someone who knows a ton about climate politics and how to influence them, but isn’t bound by conventional political thinking. Someone who has experience with running effective campaigns online and offline and knows how to mobilise people to create change.

350.org is building a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis. Our online campaigns, grassroots organizing, and mass public actions are led from the bottom up by thousands of volunteer organizers in over 188 countries. 350.org works hard to organize in a new way—everywhere at once, using online tools to facilitate strategic offline action. We want to be a laboratory for the best ways to strengthen the climate movement and catalyze transformation around the world.

About the Senior Campaigner

The Senior Campaigner will identify, develop, and implement multi-platform campaigns and strategies in collaboration with 350 campaigns and organizing teams on online-to-offline organizing and mobilization strategy.

They will also be responsible for overseeing training new staff and volunteers in the Arab region as well as be responsible for developing linkages between the Arab World and other regional teams.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an experienced campaigner, a solid project manager, and a talented writer in Arabic and English.

The Arab World Senior Campaigner will:

  • Work with the Arab World campaign & teams to develop and implement strategic online and offline campaigns;
  • Manage and coordinate the Arab World team.
  • Craft emails, social media, and other web content to support Arab World campaigns;
  • Coordinate and manage 350.org campaigns in the Arab World
  • Identify opportunities, develop campaign ideas, and implement strategic online campaigns to grow 350.org’s audience and mailing list;
  • Use digital media to share campaign updates, victories, and stories.
  • Cultivate our volunteer and partner network in the Arab World
  • Occasionally run workshops or trainings with partners and volunteers to strengthen our network and campaigns;

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience of online and / or offline campaigning.
  • Strategic campaign development expertise and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Fantastic written and verbal communications skills, with fluency in Arabic and English. Ability to write for a variety of audiences and platforms.
  • Highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects at once without sacrificing quality.
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as in close coordination with a remote team.
  • Knowledge of and interest in Arab World energy and climate politics. Commitment to building grassroots power as a means to effect change.
  • Creativity to navigate a fluid national agenda and keep focus on the climate movement.
  • Good networking skills and ability to work with multiple partners from all parts of the society.
  • Experience with coalition and/or multi-stakeholder campaign planning and implementation.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of climate issues
  • Experience at the intersection of online and offline organizing, mobilization, and direct action.
  • Experience with coalition and/or multi-stakeholder campaign planning and implementation.
  • Experience using some (or all) of the online platforms employed by the digital team, including but not limited to Action Kit, Action Network, WordPress, and Control Shift Labs.
  • Fluency in French
  • Experience with the following:

  • grassroots organising

  • non-violent direct action and civil disobedience

  • internal processes and systems development

  • international campaigning

  • Digital technical experience

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.

Position Type: full time
